glennb Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Very happy with my SVS sub (PB12+). Not as musical as some sealed subs and beaten easily by a good IB setup for sound quality and punch, but the SVS does well for my HT purposes and is good value.
dirkdiggler Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 i have the sub below.. my system at 1/2 volumne windows rattle. Dont really know about music, but for Ht bloody good value.

ZiggyRyder Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I have a PC Ultra. Bought it about 7 weeks ago from Deep htz audio. It is awesome. Sounds amazing for both music and HT. Looks pretty imposing, had a "what have I done" moment when I first unpacked it (and the g/f said "you didn't tell me it was going to be that f*^king big") but it actually looks awesome in our lounge room, had a party a few weeks ago and all our friends loved the look of it (and the sound of course). Would definitely get the same one again.
Aspect Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) "you didn't tell me it was going to be that f*^king big") yeah, I hear that a lot... Edited June 27, 2008 by Prior
petetherock Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I have a review on my PB 12+ in the review section and some notes on setting it up as well Cheers
masterleet1503561330 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I've recently purchased a piano black PB Ultra 13 and its absolutely fantastic! The depth and power of this thing is awesome! And for $3k delivered to perth you cant beat it! (that was including a spl meter and an avia cd). I will say that its huge. And most people say "yeah yeah im sure its big" then you see if and its like "OMFG that thing could be a coffee table!" I think its like 70kgs unpacked. Peter at Deephz was great to deal with, service was first class all the way and had my sub 3 days after it was shipped. I couldnt recommend the PB Ultra 13 enough! Matt
freq Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I am also considering getting a svs subwoofer for my home theatre setup, I am really not sure if the SVS PB12 Plus/2 would be overkill or whether or not the SVS PB12 Plus would be sufficient for me. I am running Paradigm Monitor 9's Paradigm CC390 Paradigm Mini Monitor Rears Yamaha 1800 And apologies if I have hijacked the thread a bit

Noddy347 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Hi gents, sorry for digging up the past, i don't have enough posts to start my own thread yet. Ok i have a dedicated room which is 7m x 4.5m x 2.4m. I am currently using a STF-3 HSU research subwoofer which i have had for approx 5yrs now. It has a fixed tune of 25hz but now i am looking to add some more grunt. My current rig is all Klipsch Reference 7.1 and Rotel power amps. So my budget is 2K and i have been looking at the current range of svs subs. First option is PC12-NSD cylinder sub which i can get two of with my 2K budget. One for each front corner. The second option is PC12-PLUS DSP in either cylinder or box version. I have no issues with space in my room. Which of the two options do you think would be better suited to my room? Are there any subs which will run with the svs for performance and price?
fawlty99 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 2 subs are definately good in a larger room. I had a SVS Ultra (cylinder) in one corner but found it was still missing something. Put a small sub in the other corner & viola! I did have an awkward shaped room however & normally & reckon one ultra would be more than enough. Would blow your budget however. imo get the biggest you can afford and see if that satisfies. If not save up for a smaller cheaper sub for the other corner (assume you can callibrate for 2 subs or have a 2 sub capable avr).

Matt My sentiments exactly, you will not find better customer service than Peter. I have two PB-13s purchased from DeepHertz. SVS- extremely well made, sensibly priced and easily integrated into all systems.

Guest SPL Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I have heard mix results about these subbies, I've got one on my short list but a little apprehensive about pulling the trigger. I hope they are as good as some claim.
