Dover Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 (edited) Title says it all I've been looking at the Pinnacle range and noticed the Blaze one today - all around $90-100 Does anyone have these or others they can recommend?? The TinyTwin Dual looks to be popular - perhaps I could stretch the budget??? Edited June 19, 2008 by Dover
Mr Resony Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 i think you can find better price than your existing price from china
Digital Penetration Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Don't buy a Kworld 380u usb. I got mine from Jaycar for $88. It forgets schedules, regularly loses all channel information (requiring a complete frequency re-scan), can't find timers (you get an chain of endless popups telling you this), has a really bad interface and seems to need complete deletion and re-installation of its software every few weeks. When it works, it's really convenient, but I have learnt not to trust it. It also seems that the programmers decided to bypass any Windows API's and implement their own direct connections to the device. It gets very confused if you don't plug it into the same USB port every time, the one used when it was installed (another bloody nuisance).
mtv Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 The TinyTwin Dual looks to be popular - perhaps I could stretch the budget??? It's well worth it. Not much point spending a little less for something that doesn't work well, or in some cases, even at all.
smeg888 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Ditto. I'd stretch the budget to the Tiny Twin. I've had mine for a year, and it's never missed a beat. regards

Just to reply to my own post: I downloaded and installed new software from Kworld's website Kworld AU over the break and a lot of the above problems seem to have gone away. The interface still sucks, but it hasn't lost a schedule or required a re-install since updating the Hypermedia Center.
REZ O'LUTION Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I've got a pinnacle PCTV nano ( 73E ) for $90 & it works fine , but only when connected to a decent antenna ( as expected ).
