after having IQ installed last week, I've been trying to register on the Foxtel web site to utilise the remote record feature, however no matter what username I specify, I always get "Username already exists. Please try again.".

http://www.foxtel.com.au/UserRegistration/CreateWebUser.aspx

I am 1000% certain that the usernames I've tried, including mashing of the keyboard, do not all exist, so something is clearly up with it.

anyone else had issues registering of late? I called Foxtel on Monday and they said they would pass it on to the Remote Record team, but who knows how long it might take to get sorted out :(

I imagine there have been 0 successful registrations since at least Friday, probably longer...

I had the same prob a few months back when I set up my remote record. I think I had to call them about 3 times to "reset" my account and it finally got working. Try calling the disconnections line and tell them u want it fixed pronto ie no point paying money for features u cant use....that may work?

Anyway its so good when u get it working...apart from when Channel 9's programming runs late and u get the ass end of some show u hate (ie that Gordon Ramsay f*ck) and it chops the end of the show u actually wanted to watch!

Can you remote record free to air? I cant see it in the tv guide. Or is it like HD, where you have to be signed in to view the channels?

Yes you can and yes you have to be logged in to view them in the online guide.
