Hey everyone, not sure if you guys can help out, but seeing as we've got no more Toshiba HD DVD players in Aus (except for the ones going for crazy prices on eBay), and I have some relatives going to USA soon I thought I'd pick a few up over there.

Just wondering if anyone knows what stores over there still have these players? If any? Or can you guys recommend a forum similar to this one but based in USA so I can ask?

Also, in USA, are they still selling HD DVD movies in stores? Or is it all only through Amazon etc these days?

I would appreciate any info anyone has!

Thanks :D

The main American forum that I know of is AVSforum: Link

Maybe someone there has some ideas for you! It's a big forum though with a lot of members (as you'd expect).

Up until now, Circuit City had good deals on HD-A3's ($79 US IIRC), but it appears as though they've pretty much sold out of all HD-DVD players except the LG BH-200 Combo.

You'd probably want to check out Target, K-Mart (K-Mart might be sold out, they dropped the price on A3's down to $37), and Fry's. Best Buy ditched their stock quite some time ago.

Sorry, I'd say most places will be fairly sold out by now. Still worth a look though.

DarkMatt - Thanks heaps! That information is exactly what I'm looking for.

Yeah I'll tell my relatives to have a look at a few stores and see what they can come up with, I guess that's my best shot!

Thanks again for the info.

about a week ago there was one or two selling privately through Amazon but they would not dispatch outside of US mainland so if you had a US address your rels could pick it/them up from there and bring them home , check value of items before duty is payable I think its over $1000 but you dont want a nasty surprise. hope this helps. cheers alan
