Well, I'm sure that most Pio screen installs are probably done with a stand but what about you guys who had them wall mounted? I figured it might be nice but I discarded the thought but now I'm starting to think I might have it done. I presume that the wall mount needs to be secured to a stud in the wall? Do installers use a stud finder or just old school methods? What about the hidden cables thing, how does that work? Just pipe it through the wall at the back down to the bottom then behind some hollow skirting board or something like that?

Installers do:

[1] Find studs using studfinder / [2] Secure wallmount / [3] Fit panel to wall mount and adjust as required to customer (Left/Right via sliding and/or Up/Down via adjusting panel or moving wallmount if necessary) / [4] Tune STB / [5] Connect all cables required by customer / [6] Provide quick 10min instruction on remote, settings etc.

If you require the cables to be hidden that is an addirional cost and is between $100-$200 depending on complexity, they run the cables through a hole in the plaster behind the unit then down to just above skirting board and out through another hole. The actual locations will of course vary according to the installation and siting of equipment.

That's exactly what the installer did for me. The bloke I had was very professional and took care.

The only 'problem' I had was that the TV was mounted slightly too low. I used a generic bracket and the measurements he used were for the Pioneer bracket, so we were a bit low. Therefore, I recommend double check your height requirements.

I paid $100 for him to run the cables behind the wall - money well spend in my opinion.
