satz1503559559 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 hi all I'm thinking of splitting the single SVideo output from my Transact TV decoder into 2 x Svideo signals (one to feed my TV, and the other for my HD recorder) Q: is this likely to cause a 'darker' picture? (this happens when I try to split the Composite video output) I haven't got the necessary equipment to just try and see, so was hoping to get advice before buying stuff. thanks all satz

Why not simply run your decoder though your recorder, and leave it at that? (That's what I do with SelecTV, until I can justify buying a satellite PVR.) (A: Because that means that the recorder must be on just to watch TransTV, when you don't want to record or timeshift it, and you want to reduce the wear and tear on your recorder and consume less electricity.) What outputs does the TransACT box have? Just one composite and one S-Video, huh?
