sporac Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Hi all, I'm looking for a broken Aussie E1 or Xe1. I need to salvage its power supply for use on my US XA2. Please PM me.

Just a thought, there is another option for those that have 'unfixable' HD DVD players and have a lot of HD titles they would dearly miss, that is ......build yourself a HTPC with a LG HD/BR drive. This would allow enthusiasts to have an ongoing maintenance and upgrade path plus the flexibility of a computer. In fact the DVD upscaling ability of a well spec'd HTPC can easily equal that of the XE1 or better. After having built HTPC I would not go back to a standalone unit now where redundancy can result in a useless piece of hardware. The power supply should not be too hard to fix by a compentent TV serviceman. Check the fuse obviously, but it is possibly the 'mains switching transistor' of the SMPS.....careful ....'mains active'. newbieDAN Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Is your power supply stuffed or are you going 110-240? I've a bricked HD-A1 if you need a US power supply.

IanD1503559705 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Stepdown transformers are quite reasonably priced for low wattage units. Your best option might be to go for a USA PSU and a stepdown transformer if the PSU can be had very cheaply.
