FMB Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 The Queensland government has just launched their latest campaign to get southerners up here for a holiday. It involves scantily-clad swimwear models 'flashing' passers by in Sydney and Melbourne. What will they think of next. Almost makes me want to holiday down there.

And some overpaid idiot got how much to decide that flashers were a good idea. Maybe outside an all girl review, but to get people to spend their hard earned in another state....maybe it'll get the 17-24 male market coming up.....are they the ones to save Queensland Tourism, I hope so. As someone who lives in a "tourist town" probably something with a little more substance would have been better..........
stahc Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 no need for gimmicks here................half my family lives in brisbane their loss bolts* *thanks for the getaway tip biteyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
BribieG Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Quote Chats: half my family lives in brisbane I expect they arrived with those rego plates reading "Victoria, on the Move" More seriously, as a SEQ resident I can't see why anyone would want to visit the area any more. The Gold and Sunshine coasts are becoming overcrowded traffic-gridlocked violent non-entities. Similarly Cairns and Port Douglas. As far as I am concerned the only coastal areas worth visiting any more are the Fraser Coast (Bundaberg etc), Hervey Bay and .... sorry can't think of another one. When we go on holiday we go to the stunningly beautiful Northern NSW - Gibraltar Ranges, New England, Yamba etc. There are actually some stunning areas in QLD not well known down south such as the Bunya Mountains, Carnarvon Gorge, the Kennedy Development Highway from Emerald up to Atherton Tablelands via Charters towers, but no need to have bikini girls advertising those areas Oh and apologies to Jayweb above: Cardwell is quite nice, that's the other area that slipped my mind B) Edited June 11, 2008 by BribieG

The roads around here are terrible, part of the reason why I now work from home. Save infinite amounts in fuel alone, not to mention time. There still are plenty of beautiful places in Qld, but as you said, they are not the places with airports.....
swordfish805 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 When we go on holiday we go to the stunningly beautiful Northern NSW - Gibraltar Ranges, New England, Yamba etc. Funny, down here (in the 10th best city on the planet apparently) we consider the North Coast of NSW to have been spoiled years ago. The best places now are on the South Coast - great secluded beaches with fantastic fishing and scenery, coastal lakes for sailing, canoeing and prawning, magnificent dairy country, old country towns and snow clad mountains not far from the coast. Of course the downside is if you go to far south you run into those Mexicans escaping for a warm winter weekend in NSW.

SDL Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Just looking at the models I would be more tempted to send food parcels as obviously its an advertising campaign for the starving girls of Queensland
