I have arranged to have Foxtel HD installed the day before i move into a new property, will involve a full install as there is no existing point there.

Will i need to have a TV there when the technician visits for him to be able to install everything or can he put it all in without one ?

If its anything like a mystar install you will need a tv.

The whole point I would imagine is to set it up on your equipment. I would call to ask prior to tech arriving so they dont just fob you off then you will be waiting more time......

It wouldn't be mandatory but obviously helpful. You don't need the final Tv there, any portable CRT would be fine I suspect (helpful if it had composite (red-yellow-white) inputs).

Most installers have equipment that can plug in and monitor the signal and even display a picture to confirm the outlet is running fine.

But should be easy enough to give Foxtel a call and ask - they obviously do installs in houses being constructed and no TV is yet in place. It might be they install the plug and organise to come back once you're ready with a TV for the final fit off.

Yeah you will - having been in that same situation two months back I can tell you without a doubt they will expect a TV of some sort - and a connected phone line and number!

Thanks

Won't have a connected phone at the time, but i assume thats so they can test the box office movies ? Not something i'm too worried about.
