MrBurns84 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Hi All, Currently looking at getting a sub-sat speaker system for the bedroom and i dont want to spend more than $700 on it. Looked at alternatives but from reviews this 7.1 system seems to be best fit the best performance/price of $700. Just out of curiousity, has anyone own this speaker system and have it connected to a dvd player that has 7.1 analog outputs? Any ideas and assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

sold Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 At that price you could get one of the entry level Sony or Yamaha AV receiver + Speaker packages, or you could go for an entry level receiver/second hand plus Dick Smith/Ebay speaker package. Either would be a better option IMO as it allows you to upgrade the speakers down the track if you want without having to start from scratch.

The only way i could get WAF approval if it is a small satellite & sub package that can be hidden away but still have reasonable surround sound quality. She liked the BOSE cubes but they're so expensive for what they sound like.. The Creative package seems to fit the budget but it would seem that I would have to invest extra on Stereo RCA to miniplug cables (4X) to connect them directly to the Oppo 983 7.1 DVD player.
