rich1 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 OK I now have iQ2 with HD and am having trouble with HDMI iQ2 connection / Viera Link on SC-HT65 / TH50PZ700A. When I connect iq2 with HDMI cable into the BD/DVD input on the SC-HT65 - the ON/OFF control with the TV remote does not work (ht remote works ok). It works OK if iq2 is connected by SCART to component on the TH50PZ700A. Also connected DMR EX85 to DVR on SC-HT65 Is there a conflict with iq2 & viera Link? What is optimum connection configuration. Richie

Richie I got the impression from the instruction manual that came with my Viera, that Viera link is for connecting Panasonic products (to each other), it wouldn't have occurred to me to even try to connect the iQ2 via Viera Link.

I also cannot get it to work, It says in HDMI mode it should work on my LG Plasma too, as has the similar Simplink CEC, It actually has a lot of codes in the manual for various manufactures to program it, but of course finding codes for Pace electronics is another issue.
hosko64 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Mate my home theatre is the same,Ican't do it as well. The old IQwas running via component with two optical cables one HDMI cable.I could turn the receiver on off with the Tv remote,If you work it out please email me at hosko64@tpg.com.au thank you.
gawain Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 The IQ2 seems to swallow HDMI-CEC signals. Without IQ2 connected via HDMI, CEC between my Samsung series 6 LCD TV and 1500 Blu Ray player works fine (Samsung call it "Anynet+"). Connect the IQ2 via HDMI and the it stops working. I "modified" (with a sharp knife) an HDMI cable breaking the link to pin13 which carries the CEC signals. When I used that to connect the IQ2, CEC control between the TV and the Blu Ray player was retained without any apparent loss of function or quality on the IQ2. If you're going to try this, be careful! There are a lot of wires in a small space in an HDMI plug. Use a multimeter or similar to check you've broken the connection to pin 13 without breaking or shorting any others, particularly adjacent ones.
