FTA mainly with the odd DVD/BD. I have a PS3. Buying tomorrow. What would you choose?

I actually have both and can say that I prefer the Sony. Under variable lighting conditions, the sony truly shines. The pioneer has fantastic blacks but seems to be a bit 'blurry' or 'grainy'. The sony suffers from none of that. Also FTA on the sony, in particular the HD programs is a lot better.

I've only had the pioneer for a couple of days, but thats my initial impressions on both units.

why do you need to bump this. look at the result the answer is clear.

Just go look for yourself, both are good, get the one that looks good to you.

IMHO, you should buy based on which one you prefer the picture quality of, price, etc etc, not based on some internet poll. Obviously there may be fanboys of both panels which might sway the results and cause you to make a purchase which doesnt suit your needs. I havent voted in this poll.

Good luck with whatever you choose, both are great displays.

Pio Plasma wins easily for realism of PQ; I started watching Dr Stranglelove (B&W film) on ABC2 the other day on my Bravia and the black level quality put me off very quickly so I kicked the GF of the lounge room Pio Plasma and finished watching it there!

DR. S L was excellent on the Pio - even for a 40 year old B&W movie

FWIW I do really like my Bravia, it lives in the Family/Games room and I mainly use it for Xbo360, Wii and TV (via xbox360 as an extender) and the PQ is great as long as the image isn't really dark or B&W - I actually watch a lot of motor racing on it and have no issues with smearing and other nasties that the cheaper LCD brands seem to suffer.

My family room has no light control and is quite bright during the day and as such an LCD is a better fit than a Plasma would be - on the other hand my lounge room has light control and is my HT and so the Pio plasma is a far better screen for that set of circumstances where ultimate colour accuracy and quality black levels are mandatory.
