avrtRick Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) First off,I dont know if this is the right place to be putting this in,but since its going into a growing home theatre i thought I'd post here Im just looking to see if anyone has one, used one and there honest thoughts on this Furman IT reference 16 E i I have a chance to buy this for what I would consider a good price($2k under retail)and my dealer said he will hold it for me(rotel rsp, rotel am/fm tuner, cambridge 840c coming first). My main reason of wanting to buy this is for a pure sine wave and the very important elimination of ground loop hum. I have read so many things on power conditioners and peoples thoughts, negative and positive and am wondering if the negative stretches to something of this quality and am hoping that someone of great knowledge of this peice will come to my aide with some good info. Where I live is a fair ways off the power grid and we get blackouts and sags in power and I thought something of this magnitude could help. I also have been wondering for a long time why TV viewing and music listerning look and sound better of a night, But on my quest for knowledge it seems that power is the culprit. So, as stated any info from anyone is most welcome, good or bad Thanks Rick Edited June 8, 2008 by avrtRick
Spearmint Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 You might be better posting this over on SNA. There are some owners and reseller of Furman gear who are members over there.
sold Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I should first point out I'm not convinced by the need for power conditioners. With that in mind have you considered a UPS? With lots of blackouts, etc. it might be a better option in my opinion.
avrtRick Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) know what you mean There is so much controversy over the need/desire for them. I will also be getting an UPS,do you know of a good one that holds 1000w of power I did try googling but I didn't get anywhere Thanks for the link Spearmint Thanks Rick Edited June 10, 2008 by avrtRick
