why is it with every order of mine with amazon, I get grumpy.

usually what happens is I see they have some items in stock. so place an order. then get a blown out delivery date. I ask why? they come back with some items in my order they either do not actualy have in stock or will take them an eternity to get their hands on.

so I cancel those items and yet it qoutes me an eternity for delivery. so I ask them again..they tell me to delete more stuff from the order...and so it goes on....

does anyone else have this problem ..or is it just me !

getting a bit sick of it ! :(

yep i ordered stuff last night- they clearly stated that the blu ray of "black hawk down" was in Stock

in fact it was , just at one of their remote depots

which delayed the freight of my 5 other movies which were good to go

once i cancelled BHD the other stuff shiped!

same at DVDPACIFIC---"low stock" really means "we'll order it in for you, have a seat , chew some gum"

yes, I have noticed this lately.

really, really poor form.

I went to order some technical books this morning.

All 5 were showing as "In Stock", but the estimated shipping date was 7th July :o

When I switched the order to "ship as soon as possible" the order was split into 3 parts, with one of the books not shipping to 28th June, and another on the 7th July.

So what's the point of listing stuff as "In Stock" when it obviously isn't  ?

I've had it happen a couple of times as well.

If they don't have it in stock then they should say so.

Yep off Amazon at the moment, and BTW Kazz, I emailled Amazon about overcharging me on 3 of the last orders, they are fixing it, haven't seen any cash yet though, but while I remember thanks for the info.

Yep I have to give them points for fixing problems like that. :)

I just avoid them now and deal with DVD Pacific. Ive had no problems with them at all.

Unfortunately they don't sell Microsoft Certification Study guides :P

Amazon and Toshiba Australia are using the same dispatch software

Software that pulls the hearts out of loyal customers after spending up big..... :(

best thing is that I'm not still bitter about it.... ;)

just to balance things up a bit:

ordered national treasure 1 and 2 (BD) on the 26th of May and received 6th of June (with estimated delivery time of 2nd July)

got to me in record time - usually takes 3 weeks at the earliest.

Damm, I'm still waiting for my order, shipped on the 23rd May :(

I ordered 3 Blu-rays a while back and were shipped on May 21...still no sign of them yet though.

It's becoming quite stupid how long Amazon takes. EVERY other store takes generally no more than a week to arrive here from the US and often charge less for shipping than Amazon.

Well guys you can always use the expensive option which uses DHL. You get the disks in a couple of days.

We could...but then again we could go and buy them (most of them anyway) at JB and have them instantly. It's a question of cost. Paying more for shipping negates the benefit of ordering online.

Also, what's the point of Amazon giving us tracking numbers when you can't actually track your order anymore with standard shipping <_<

Woohoo. Finally received my order of: NT1&2, V for Vendetta and Remember the Titans today. 23 days after they were "sent". I think what that actually means is they left one amazon warehousing facility on May 21st on their way to an amazon distribution centre where they probably sat for over a week waiting for more Australian orders to mount up.

Amazon seriously have to lift their game.

Oh, so do Auspost...found the box sitting on my doorstep in view of the street when there was a perfectly good pillar right next to the door which it could have been tucked behind. That way only people walking right up to the door would notice it.

It would want to be for what they charge for courier delivery!

Amazon is back in my good books :D

Ordered 16 June, Shipped 18 June using cheap post, here today (27 June) ..... :o

Thats heaps quicker than ever, (even when I have paid heaps more  ).

Only the old DHL was quicker and not by much (and considerably more expensive).

Supposed to be here between 17 July and 1 August......

So I guess I'm watching Twister on HDDVD this weekend :D

Very Happy!!!!!
