Mining Man Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 It felt kinda nice to see concern for my whereabouts in a thread a few weeks back. There's always someone cruising low, or taking a break. It might be nice to acknowledge them in their absence. I've always missed stevob being a regular contributor to OT, although it's been almost 2 years or so now. The bus to Smolensk surely hasn't arrived? I'm waiting on a reply to a PM from Santa - his last post was back in April. And where is Steve C? He's also been pretty quiet of late.
Mining Man Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 Steve C's been about but no sign of Santa recently 10 days since Steve C last posted. Quiet for him... Haven't seen pete_vfr for a while too.

Mining Man Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 Last seen yesterday here. 2 years referred to the "regular" bit. Once a week during footy season, and biannual Steorn announcements aren't enough.
stahc Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Plenty of sun and plenty of flies. God I've missed Australia!! well we know you're not on the east coast at the moment

Volunteer Kazz Posted June 6, 2008 Volunteer Posted June 6, 2008 Great idea for a thread MM as there are always members who seem to go MIA from time to time and there is always someone asking why they haven't seen such and such around for a while. I do have a question for everyone though (with the exception of MM as he was also MIA at the time). When the original Where's MM thread was posted we also had another prominent member MIA and yet not one person asked the question "Where's Mo?" although he'd not posted for a couple of weeks, very unusual for him. I found this very odd at the time (still do) as Mo is a great contributor to this forum and I would have thought that someone would have asked the question. And before anyone says why didn't I, well it would have been a bit weird as I already knew the answer. I would hope that we notice, and ask the question whenever any of our regular posters and/or friends are missing.

I think with MM we were trying to find out which side of the ditch/dutch as well as which ocean he was on

Volunteer Kazz Posted June 6, 2008 Volunteer Posted June 6, 2008 was that when mo was settling in to his new abode plus waiting to come up with an outstandin post for 10k????????I think with MM we were trying to find out which side of the ditch/dutch as well as which ocean he was on Chats I wasn't having a go about people wondering where MM was, far from it. I was just curious why no-one asked after Mo, not many knew the reason for his absence at the time.
shrek Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Oh, oh the winged one has made his way into this thread.
Stevob Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Thanks MM, nice to be missed. I still pop in occasionally to see if there's anything of interest to me being discussed, but spare time/energy is at a premium for me, especially now that I've started a new job. I mostly dedicate my time on the net towards education in my main field of interest, free energy technologies. You see, for my own reasons, I believe it's coming, and I want to be a part of it. I want to immerse myself in understanding every aspect of it, so that I can then teach children how to benefit from it in the future. I just can't see myself spending the amount of time here that I used to, but I doubt that I'll disappear completely.
Skid_MacMarx Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 What happened to George? Apart from his bikes. Yes its been about a year since he last logged on still activity over at the Triathlon Forum I see http://www.triwa.org.au/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2329
Mining Man Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 MartinX and I had a running gag a year or so back, after he was called a Fracktard by a blow-in. Where are you Martin?

I was just curious why no-one asked after Mo, not many knew the reason for his absence at the time. i think i recall speaking re. Mo's whereabouts; however, i suspected he had something special in store for that magical 10k, and boy did he! One of my favourite threads that was.
Deaf Bhoy Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 What happened to Georgie boy? Apart from his bikes. Fixed yer link Caniffe It's not a naked fat man, he's stocky!

Mining Man Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 tomgj i hope he and Suzy are doing ok time flies by so fast Tom, if you're reading this, i just tried to send you a pm, but it looks like i'm not the only one thinking about you both hope all is good and i'll catch up later Nice one duckie!! That's the spirit of the thread. Oh, and I had an sms from Pete yesterday too. He says hello, having been neck deep in renovations. Hopefully we'll see him soon, with some photos of his efforts. As for the momaw thing, yeah I wasn't here at the time. But reading that he took a break on 9,999, I'm not surprised it didn't raise any discussion. Many in OT have taken a break whilst on x,999 (I think if you do a search on "x,999" we've had a discussion about it before). I remember shortly after I joined, mello took a break on 2,222 (4 black duckies) for about 4 weeks. And then on 9,999 Lyle took a break... ... for about 37 minutes. Hope you're not looking for reasons to justify division Kazz, but I understand why you might have innocently thought it weird.
mello yello Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 ...and the ever lovely Mrs Phoon ?? Hi Mum I hope Motherood agrees with you ...wherever you are
Volunteer Kazz Posted June 7, 2008 Volunteer Posted June 7, 2008 Hope you're not looking for reasons to justify division Kazz, but I understand why you might have innocently thought it weird. No not looking to justify anything.........................it was just a simple question. I guess from now on I should just shut up and stay out of everyone's way it looks like no matter what I say it's going to get twisted.
