50mxe20 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 No offers at all? My parents might end up with an upgrade! Put it on the 2nd system?
freakygeek Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) Put it on the 2nd system? hehe... I'm working on designing some speakers to build for my bedroom system. I already have a receiver to run the system, a 25 year old Nakamichi 730 receiver. Just fixing up a few issues with the touch controls on the front panel.... but it's a lovely old beast... freakygeek Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 I'm dropping the price to $1250 including shipping to eastern states. It's all packed up in its original box and ready to go!
MACCA350 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I can't believe this one hasn't gone yet..........it's a steal at that price Good luck cheers
freakygeek Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Can you get a deal on a trade in? I have already bought the AVR-3808... The dealer might be able to sell my 3806 on consignment or something, not sure. Thanks for the "good luck" Macca
myrantz Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Why isn't anybody interested in this??? Because of no HD decoding support?? Don't think you can get it cheaper anywhere in Australia at $1250 for a 3806...

Don't think you can get it cheaper anywhere in Australia at $1250 for a 3806... probably, thing is though if you have a PS3 or are planning on getting one of the new players that decode HD internally (eg Sony S550), you dont need it and something like this 3806 would be perfect and unbeatable for the money. good luck the sale - i agree ebay may be a better way to go.

dea Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Unfortunately, the lack of response doesn't surprise me. I have a no longer needed Denon 2807 and while I haven't yet advertised this I have asked around and found no interest especially from dealers. Have even been told "we will give a discount on new gear but don't want the old". It seems that anyone able to appreciate and use this type of gear doesn't want to spend on "old" technology and any reasonable price is too expensive for the lower end of the used market. Probably best advice was given above - use it in a second system, anyway Good Luck!

Still, I don't think the 3806 is a bad deal at all... Might be people getting the jitters with the high fuel price atm, next month with the tax rebates/returns/etc people's interest will pick up again..
freakygeek Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Is this still for sale?cheers Yes, it is... still sitting all boxed up in my spare room. I haven't had time to take it to the parents place, which was the plan if I didn't sell it. Drop me a PM if you're interested. Cheers
