tomlc Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 On Sunday arvo was watching a show I recorded when suddenly the IQ box just completely turned off as in all lights went out. I watched it for maybe a minute then they all lit up then after about another minute was just the read light and I turned it back on and all working. It never mentioned anything about an update or anything or is this what happens when Foxtel update. I am going on hol's next week and will be recording quite a few shows so I hope this wont fool around with recordings ? did anyone else get this on Sunday ? have only had the IQ for 2 months maybe its the norm ?

From my experience this marks the beginning of the end for your IQ. I've had 3 replacements in 4 yrs. All start by the HDD becoming corrupt and rebooting the IQ. Soon it won't work at all.
Junkyard Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 yes mine did it too on sunday , but i think i know why i was recording one program but it wouldn't let me watch another program , it kept saying Iepg service no broadcast on this channel , it must of been the on demand service trying to download . i kept trying to cancel that record and then it eventually rebooted
tomlc Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 I also recorded Sunshine and 300 on Sunday night and was watching something else when on came the conflict message so i just turne off Foxtel and watched FTA. Just tried 3 times to watch Sunshine and evertime when the conflicting recording thingy showed on screen my IQ just turned itself off. Like a complete reboot ? I was fast forwarding when it happened and happened same spot 2nd time so 3rd time just let it run normal speed but the second I went to fast forward it rebooted ? Have only had IQ for couple of months. Or can you just get a farked recording ? I fast forwarded on other recordings and no prob so I just deleted Sunshine. Damn miss the ending now but will get it next time. I dont remember having these probs with good old fashioned tape recorders So is a farked recording something that occassionaly happens or as another poster suggested my IQ is on the way out after only a couple of months ?
