franin Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 has anyone seen this apperently playing 2:35:1 on a 16x9 screen.Never seen this before. a UV200 lens set up to move in and out of the beam of a 16:9 projector is ideal for a constant width imaging system. Accordingly, the entire purpose of a moveable UV200 lens is to improve the 2.35:1 image on a 16:9 screen while maintaining the full performance of 16:9 content . http://www.panamorph.com/ModelUV200.html#M85

Nor have I, but an interesting take on the subject and it does give the resolution and brightness benefits, although you miss out on the "it should be bigger bit" so the CIH brigade won't be impressed.
ArthurDent Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 One guy on the AVS is doing it reckons it's great. I'm sure it is but all this scaling and stretching probably isn't really needed with 1080p pj's and 1080x1920 source material like it was with lesser pj's and DVD etc.
