Back to the Acer, this is the AT3235 model with a built-in HD tuner, 6.5 ms response time, 3 year warranty and native 720p resolution. I had bought previous model (AT3220) for the bedroom in March '07 and it's working fine overall. The panel suffers from a phenomenon called "clay face" if you don't use a good-quality component cable (composite is just rubbish), or over HDMI or VGA. Also, the max resolution with a PC is 1280X768 and not 1366X768 (it accepts this resolution but flickers, so the highest stable res is 1280X768).

Still, I've certainly had $2k worth of use out of it. $2k was my entry point then, and still is - the challenge is to get the best value for that $2k when I jump in next time. I'd like a min 50" LCD so I think I'll be waiting a while, but I'm in no hurry... Sorry to go off-topic
