Budget under 2k

I have a stereo setup at the moment for music. I don't watch that many movies.

Onkyo 605

Focal 836V

What is a good subwoofer? I was looking at the matching sub SW800, what else should I consider? Should the speaker brand match?

Sub brand does NOT need to match other speakers.

For music only and <$2K, get a quality sealed sub IMO. Locally made will get you best bang for buck

for under $2k well rrp of $1799 the legend kurlo is actually bloody good ! for both music and ht. it is a sealed design, well built and finished and being locally made really good value :)

While i agree sub brand does not need to match your mains, i did end up with the Focal SW800 to go with my 826's, for three reasons.

1, i got a ripper deal on it while buying my 826's and CC 800.

2, it visually matches the fronts, i like this as does my better half.

3, it's not a bad sub for it's size.(only 11" driver) and really didn't want anything huge where i'm currently living.

And FWIW i'm more than happy with my purchase.

SW800 will cost me 1.3k to get.

The best deal i got on the 826V was 2400
