Axe man Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I know it isn't bluray but i ordered the 1980's Astroby collection for my son, from the buy it new or used because it was cheaper (coughs and mutters tight a.se). Any way landed for $35Aus ordered on the 4th Sept and received on the 10th Sept, normal shipping. Couldn't believe how quick it was. most orders i've done are 3+weeks.
AndrewW Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 With expedited they ship via Austria and New Zealand.I'm not the only one, there are plenty on here that have said the same thing and thus lots of warnings about not using expedited. Yep, at the same time that Amazon nearly doubled their shipping prices to Australia, there shipping speed went right out the window. Expedited never use to take longer than 6 days, suddenly it was taking 4 to 6 weeks and often when on wonderfully circuitous routes to get to me. Standard used to take around 3-4, and now it seems to take between 2-4 weeks. Go figure
frog_A_lot Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 So what is the best of the other places to use for similar to Amazon prices and faster delivery.
Volunteer Kazz Posted September 10, 2008 Volunteer Posted September 10, 2008 So what is the best of the other places to use for similar to Amazon prices and faster delivery. DVD Pacific.
50mxe20 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Wat are there delivery times like?Better! How long is a piece of string.
IanD1503559705 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 What's happening with Amazon's disc prices? National Treasure 1/2 has gone from $40 to $52 and AVP 1/2 has gone from $26 to $52 and that's just on a couple of discs I happened to have in my cart. With the plumetting Aussie dollar, long shipping times and high postage costs Amazon is really slipping as a retailer of choice.

Totaly agree, that is why I am giving DVD Pacific a go for Iron Man. They are charging $6.45 vs $17.01 for Amazon both via Priority shipping.
davidward Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Hi friend, fashion shoes and clothes with good quality price. Dear friend Post reported

CHRIS08 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 just received my package today! i can fianlly watch transformers! so stoked. took 10 days expedited. not too bad, but much longer than last time Damn lucky u man. Mine was shipped Sept 4th & i still havent received it yet.
Hallzy Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I ordered 20 BDs on 26th August, they sent half on the 28th (waiting for transformers ). The first 10 turned up on the 17th Sep, sent Standard Shipping. About 3 weeks wasn't to bad I thought. They sent the other half on the 2nd or 3rd Sept and i'm still waiting for them...
Fwoy Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 My last two batches were sent standard shipping Sept 4th and Sept 6th. Batch 1 arrived Monday 15th and batch 2 arrived Yesterday (Friday 19th). Not too shabby!
Dr. Smythe Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Damn lucky u man. Mine was shipped Sept 4th & i still havent received it yet. Still waiting for mine too... it shipped on the 3rd with standard I ordered a couple of discs a couple of days after these ones shipped, wouldn't be surprised if they arrive together, or even first. Why is there such disparity do you think guys? There appears to be no pattern... is it Amazon, USPS, Aus Customs, Aus Post???
rareairunc Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 My orders ghot dispatched on the 31st of aug,2nd of sept and 3rd of sept and im still waiting grrrrrrrrr
RabidWolve Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Might go with DVD Pacific for Iron Man and a few others. On check out it shows shipping whats available at no extra charge. Is that a mistake on their site? As Amazon charge a higher cost for multiple shipments.
Dr. Smythe Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Still waiting for mine too... it shipped on the 3rd with standard I ordered a couple of discs a couple of days after these ones shipped, wouldn't be surprised if they arrive together, or even first. Bugger - I knew I shouldn't have said anything... the 2 BDs shipped on the 10th of Sep just arrived today... Transformers and the other shipped on the 3rd of Sep are still nowehere to be found! :'( Doc.
CHRIS08 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Got my 3 movies 2day. Took 19 days, not too bad. I was predicting 3 wks. Order form said estimated delivery Oct 1-13. LOL.
Dr. Smythe Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Picked up my Transformers SE from the PO today - got the card in the mailbox yesterday, so 20 days all up (shipped on the 3rd)... pretty slow compared to usual, but hopefully just a once-off lull in transit speed. Would be good to know where things go awry. Cheers, Doc.

The second box turned up on Monday 22nd, so about 20 days all up for standard shipping.
Rappo Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hey. I bought a copy of Casino Royal off Amazon after checking with momaw's list, and it won't play on my Pana BW500. Anybody else having the same issue?

Highjinx Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hey. I bought a copy of Casino Royal off Amazon after checking with momaw's list, and it won't play on my Pana BW500.Anybody else having the same issue? Casino Royal if bought from the U.S is region locked to region "A", region free if bought in Aus....according to momow's list.
ELK007 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Casino Royal if bought from the U.S is region locked to region "A", region free if bought in Aus....according to momow's list. The new Casino Royale Collectors Edition (Double-Dip Edt) is region free from US, but not the original release.
Rappo Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Thanks guys. There lies my mistake. I looked at the Region B list not realising it for disks bought in region B. So, I now have a copy that is no good to me.
