Dr. Smythe Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I just had another quick Amazon shipment arrive - pre-ordered a BD on the 30th (Monday last week), was released and shipped Tuesday the 1st, and I just picked it up from the PO today. 8 working days from end-to-end with standard intl shipping. Beats paying expedited! My record prior to that has been pretty good too... usually no more than 2 weeks if in stock at time of order. Cheers, Doc.
Davidian Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 (edited) Is the Amazon delivery estimates usually accurate? I only ask because I ordered three BR titles and my account summary states... Items shipped on July 7, 2008: Delivery estimate: August 12, 2008 1 package via Standard Int'l Shipping ...I can't wait that long for Batman Begins!!! Edited July 10, 2008 by Davidian
Arecsa Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Their estimates are way off, just to cover themselves if your package is held up for some reason. Standard shipping is usually around 2 weeks.
Serpeant Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Mine arrived today from Amazon. Just a little over two weeks wait... gamestop are much faster, but dont do BD.
Rica Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) Placed an order to amazon on the 8th July. It shipped later that day. Now, I wonder if I can beat the 6 day record??? I think I can beat that one.... just Items dispatched on 23 Jul 2008: Delivery estimate: 29 Jul 2008 1 package via Royal Mail got it today, 28th.... so 5 days. oh and was standard shipping. I'm happy about it EDIT: it was from UK not US..... but I'm Still happy about it Edited July 28, 2008 by Rica
Hallzy Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 My first experience with Amazon US has been a good one. I ordered 14 BD's last Thursday night (the 24th) and they turned up today. 5 days isn't to bad. I paid for Priority International 3 - 5 day delivery. Next time I might try Expedited International 6-10 business days or even Standard International.
minbin Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 My last amazon (US) order shipped on 17/7 & arrived 29/7. It's been the fastest standard shipping from amazon so far.

Arecsa Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 How much was it for Priority delivery? $29.99 per shipment, and $3.99 per Blu-ray in the shipment. Making it $25 more expensive per order, and $1 more per item compared to standard shipping.
Roy Batty Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Am I the only one who has had them arrive fairly quickly (as in ~ten days) when ordering with expedited shipping? Granted, I did an experiment where I got a friend in the US to order me one and post it to me herself, but I never let Amazon find out about that from me. So far, three orders with expedited shipping have come in at around ten days while standard has taken more than a month.
petermanaena Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 the THING with Amazon.com that you REALLY NEED to remember is that $2.99 PER ITEM charge (with standard shipping) - which quickly adds up on multiple items in your shopping cart. Personally - I'd wait a few weeks with any US purchases - and compare the 'upcoming' DeepDiscount bi-annual 20% off sale against what Amazon are charging. Amazon.com's shipping charges increased last year for international purchases - and the 'discount' that you are getting on the item is recouped via postage. Amazon.com is IMO only good for box sets or packaged sets. Hi there, dvdplanet.com have a buy one get one free blue ray at the moment, standard prices are about $29usd with an automatic discount of about $7-8 per disc. I have dealt with these guys since my laserdisc days (they took over Ken Cranes) and have had fantastic service, one order went missing once and after one phone call was sent a full replacement (to tassie). My first Blue ray order left on Friday and should be here any day, usually seven to ten days, the hold up is normally through customs at our end, check the date of arrival and the customs date stamp. As with any o/seas purchase warrnaty claims can be expensive as in you pay the freight there and back. My purchase worked out to about $15 per b/ray for four discs. cheers, Peter Hobart

Priory Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Got my order today from Amazon.com, shipped on the 17th, so it took 13 days via standard shipping.
Adelaideltpc Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Hi there,dvdplanet.com have a buy one get one free blue ray at the moment, cheers, Peter Hobart I don't see the B1G1 deal on their website. Care to post a link?

Yeah its a bit more expensive but I didn't want to be waiting for a month. Wanting everything RIGHT NOW is one of the problems of todays youth......It worked out to be a couple of bucks more per disc.
50mxe20 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Ordered 27 August. Shipped 28 August Arrived 09 September Four BD disks. I make that 12 days via normal shipping. That's a lot better than I've experienced previously.

frog_A_lot Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Ordered 4 Discs from amazon last week, said it was shipped on the 2nd Sept, but expected delivery date is like end of sept till at latest mid October. Is it really going to take that long, or are Amazon just covering themself?? How close to expected delivery date is Amazon usually?

seadog Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) I've found Amazon expedited is about 11-13 days , standard is about 18 days to Perth. Edited September 9, 2008 by seacat
AndreasB Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Hi all. Has anyone pre-ordered the Godfather Trilogy form amazon.co.uk, do you know if it is the Coppola Restoration as it doesn't say so? I actually cancelled my pre-orders on amazon.com for The Godfather and Kill Bills cause I worked out it would be cheaper from the UK. Also I know that the US Kill Bill is edited in black and white for certain sections, was this done in other countries on release?
momaw Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Also I know that the US Kill Bill is edited in black and white for certain sections, was this done in other countries on release? All countries but Japan. The Japanese release also includes additional footage.
