Hydrology Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 http://www.pricejapan.com/front/e_good_inf...amp;category=11 Seriously wouldve entertained buying one of these only my sister back in Ireland let me down this week with money that failed to come through in time. I woudl prefer a 240v unit, but at a further saving of nearly AU$1000 over the 240v unit Im prepared to buy at HiviZone, this wouldve been a bargain. Bugger For anyone interested, they claim they have two units only.

Hydrology Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Link doesn't go to anything? Thats because they went like hot cakes!
davep Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 I saw the page last night when you first linked it up. Interestingly it listed the reason for refurbishment as the units being a 110V unit being connected to a 220 and/or 230240V power supply and that it tripped an internal switch which needed to be reset. This, if interpreted correctly (it was pretty broken engrish), lends weight to PJ's claim of 110V onlyunits.
RodN Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Thats because they went like hot cakes! So how much were they? What'd I miss!
davep Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 250,000 yen, or about $2.5g (+shipping? and +GST (maybe))
Hydrology Posted May 24, 2008 Author Posted May 24, 2008 So how much were they? What'd I miss! Basically about AU$2,900 plus shipping. A bargain, and a bitter pill to swallow when I order my VW60 (albeit brand new) next week, for about a $1000 more (still cheaper than local by a huge stretch)
huggy Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 just under 3k,I was going to pull the pin on one until I saw the price with shipping and all extras.Basically there was only 500 difference so I didnt think it was worth it for a refurb. Thanks anyway for the heads up Mark .
Trigg Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Geez, have the prices gone up. I paid $3k new from Price Japan earlier this year for teh 240v version.
larry42 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 hi trigg i wonder why the vw60's are more expensive now from pj than earlier in the year ? the aud is higher ? and the vw60 is not a 'new' model any more ?

Not sure why the VW60 is more expensive now, but while there is most likely a new model this year, the VW60 is still current. Just paid for one from Hivizone. Not as good a deal as Trigg and co. got, but still a substantial saving over local prices.
larry42 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 hi mark i agree it is definately a good value projector, especially from overseas it is just that i am surprised that it is more expensive on pj over the last few months.....
Hydrology Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 hi marki agree it is definately a good value projector, especially from overseas it is just that i am surprised that it is more expensive on pj over the last few months..... I think its not just Price Japan, but all vendors. Even stock in this country has been hard to come by for the last few months - perhaps they cant meet demand and the price therefore has risen slightly.
