Elmo1 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 some shots of my PS3 that arrive today. Just not sure as to whether I really do need a step down converter or not.
avrtRick Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Hi Elmo1, Does it come with a power cord only,or does it have a seperate power supply?,on the back it says 100v~ might need a step down Is it just for use with imported games or can you unlock it to play PAL(I have no knowledge of PS3's) Enjoy. Rick
Jamie88 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Check the back on the unit, it will say either 100v or itl say something like 100-240v if it says 100v only then you will need a step down if it has 240v on there then you wont. As for the ps3's there region free for all gams, just not blu-ray movies im sure there will be a chip or something to fix that
Jamie88 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Sorry just looked at the photos you will need a step down. Im not 100% sure on this but someone should be able to confirm you may be able to replace the power supply in your white ps3 with one from an Australian unit which will be 240v
STiScott Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Gotta love the White PS3's. If this is from HK/SG etc and not the US, i thought they have a universal PSu inside and all you need is the correct power cord. Unless they have changed something reecently, i was sure there was info stating that the PSU's were universal. I myself have been to get one of these so as to play Region A Blu-ray titles. Nice Work.
Bucho Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Nice work, the white PS3's are awesome. Does anyone think there could be potential conflicts connecting a white PS3 to the Aus PlayTV (if it ever comes out)?
