haven't heard anything about making it worse, it makes it better so I would recommended doing the upgrade. Its easy to do, the latest one is 1013.

Even with the upgrade though the motion plus setting is pretty crap, most things look better with it turned off

My new one is the same and I am debating whether to change the firmware.

I upgraded from 1009 to 1013 and see no difference.............but i dont really know what to look out for honestly hehehe.......i didnt see any issues in the first place

1013 has 2 upgrades..

one of them is frame rate fixes..

and second is the motion plus issues fix..

i perosnally was relieved after upgrading from 1009 to 1013..

now my lcd is normally on motion plus of medium... and yes.. there is a difference between it being switched off and on medium (for FTA)

so where did you see the difference with the motion plus on/off after the upgrade to 1013 ? Sports ?

Does it affect pictures for standard FTA or movies or DVD's if you have it on ? Or do you switch it off unkless you are watching sports ?

Also do you get a lot of pixelation depending on which FTA station/show you are watching ?

different tv shows do vary in quality, some shows on HD look absolutely amazing whilst others look really poor. It just depends on what the source is like from the tv station. I'm assuming some shows such as neighbours are also shot with HD camera's now so it looks better than a SD show thats been upscaled which most HD programs are.

It also helps to properly calibrate your tv too, everything looks a lot smoother and more balanced when you do. It also minimizes pixelation to some extent.

I personally leave motion flow off for most things except when I'm watching the footy but even then i haven't decided if its worth turning it on or not. The updated firmware only changes the strength of the motion plus setting, ie before the upgrade low used to be medium if that makes sense

well.. if i watch a dvd... i keep my motion plus to medium.. its a much smoother picture.. when i turn it off.. i do feel a bit of blur.. but i also feel that now my eyes have got quite used to it.. so i really notice it when motion plus is switched off..

when watching blu-rays.. i dont use 24hz.. i keep it off.. and put motion plus to low.. its really good then..

i dint notice much difference between keeping 24hz off or on..

when watching sports.. everything happens so quickly that sometimes i dont find a difference if i keep it on medium or high.. my tv is on medium most of the time.. and im not someone who loves to fiddle around with settings... so i just watch it on medium most of the times...

never had any pixelation problems with motion plus on.
