Gidday,

I picked up the Schneider CINE-DIGITAR 1.33x Anamophic Lens from fellow forum member ADUMICIC (Many thanks mate :D) a couple of nights ago. The pictures turned out OK and will give you some idea of it's size.

The stand it comes with is for Table use. The Lens can Raise/Lower vertically on the metal bar you see and can also tilt Up/Down about 40-50 degrees. If you look at the rear of the Lens you'll see 2 small TORX screws which allow you to remove the Lens completely from the Stand in order to mount it

to a Sled or other Lens Mounting solution.

Front Of Lens:

Schneider Lens #1

Rear Of Lens:

Schneider Lens #2

Side Of Lens:

Schneider Lens #3

Now for the KINO-TORSION Sled, and of course the Projector itself.

Slowly piecing this puzzle together ;)

Cheers

Very, very nice... I want one!

If only the Aussiemorphic lens wasn't so good (price vs. picture), I could convince my wife about the need to upgrade!

Q. What is the near--far label suggesting?

I thought it was a fixed lens or am I missing something as usual?

Nice piece of kit Blade :D

Is the lens itself able to reverse mount on the right angled bracket? (By this I mean sit proud rather than inside the 90 degree bend)

@ Curious - It's fully adjustable and can rotate a full 360 degrees on the mount. I removed the Lens entirely as it just holds into that bracket with 2 TORX screws.

@ Norpus - Adumicic who sold it to me said the NREAR/FAR didn't do anything for him but I'm yet to test/experience it yet so I'll guess I have to wait and see. Josh might know.

Retail I believe the cost is somewhere in the region of $6000:00AUD. I was extremely fortunate in that a forum member here had one for sale as it didn't suit his physical location.

As with any High-End Lens be it for Theatre and/or cameras purpose built Len's are not cheap (As I found out when I started researching this subject). Keep in mind you'll need a 2:35 Cinescope screen to match if you start going down this path but good old Richard from OZTS screens sells them at very reasonable prices.

Thanks Blade,

$6K is way more than I could hope to scrape together

I'll keep an eye on your posts with this lens...hopefully with the sale of some of my surplus equipment I can pick up one 'pre-loved' for a reasonable price

The ring should be astigmatism correction. It should physically shift the front elements in and out to cater for a wider range of throws...

Have you got your Kino-Torsion set yet? I was trying to set my Kino-Torsion to work with VW80's trigger 2 but failed. Did you make it work?
