Guys,

Sorry be a pain, but since I have difficulties of getting the player, I am considering paying $300+ for a EP-10, the $300+ depending on the condition of the unit and if there is a reciept for warranty.

I would prefer to buy from ppl in the forum rather than ebay if possible.

I dont understand, when ppl pm me they asked for $400 for this unit and they claim it is ebay price.

However, the recent ep-10 auction ends with $295 + postage and the other $315 + postage.

I was bidding it and then lost it to someone else.

Damn, is $300 sound unreasonable?

i think $300 is reasonable, but it might come down to the fact that some people really either (a) develop a passion for the format and it would take a lot to tear it from their hands (B) they might simply be trying to recoup the expense they paid earleir (a natural feeling some could argue) or © some people blatantly are looking to make a profit.

Keep browsing/following, and i'm sure you will snap up a deal that both you and the seller are happy with.

True, since i have a spare Xbox drive, i might build a HTPC, cost around 300-400 with a spare computer too.

I will rather wait until someone is willing to sell me cheaper.

I agree with you about the HTPC. I was thinking about this and figured why not put the money towards a HTPC that will go beyond this format. Plus have far more functionality anyway. This is of course if you have the 360 HDDVD drive already. Don't feed the sharks, it'll only attract more of them. BTW, I think $300 is more than reasonable.

The HTPC route sounds like a good one to go with, but by all acounts, it sounds like you could have a reasonable buy from Art Vandelay (whom i can vouch for as being good to deal with). :)

He's a very reputable import exporter, though he's thinking about giving up on the exporting to focus on the importing.

HTPC is a very good option. I connected my 360 drive up to my HTPC in the making the other day with no problems. Only issue is with the box itself. The onboard video doesn't seem to want to output the correct hz over RGBHV :(

YOu need to get the latest video card that supports direct x 10. Or perhaps get the new AMD motherboard and they have built in directx 10 support with HDMI outputs.
