Hddvduser, how many payers do you need before you'll release the firmware to those of us who have now paid?

I think it's fair to say, there's no way we're going to get all those 80-82 people who "mentioned" EP30/A30 to come back here and pay after both threads were closed some time back. Many will have had changed circumstances also, like buying a 2nd gen player in the meantime.

I've posted a new thread over at AVForums to hopefully get some of them back over here. I was really careful not to mention anything kingfats can pull me up on, and I believe he has no grounds whatsoever to delete the posting at: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread....671#post7050671

im sure if people really want the firmware now they will pay the quiker the better for them....

At least fatty didn't delete the thread only lock it. It can now serve as a sort of announcement to those who haven't been keeping an eye on things. Cheers.

I also hope that everyone respects hd's wishes, and the wishes of those who have paid for it, not to distribute, and that nothing will spoil future releases for everyone as well. This has all along been working on trust, and we have all got it this far, which is great!

Can't wait to try this, very exciting to think that I will soon have v2.1 firmware. I'll crank up the video projecter and let loose with some multi-region SD DVDs upscaled madness a.s.a.p.

Personally, I have no plans to give it to anyone. After all, I'm paying for it...don't see why others should get it for free. Also, I don't think that thread on the AVF should have been closed, as it's always been perfectly acceptable to allow people to talk freely about paid-for chipping of DVD players to make them region-free, as well as paying to unlock mobile phones, etc. By closing that thread, it's been made very apparent that the reason behind the closure is personal.
