What bank you with?

Three different ones, actually...Both Barclays and Nationwide will charge me £20 a pop, and IF will charge slightly less...but not much less!

I'm with Halifax and it's £19.50. Just looked on the post office website and they charge £12 for International money transfers.

By the way, for anyone intending to pay, you'll need to say who you are (your username will do) so that hddvduser knows who to give the firmware to. Cheers.

For all of you with the problem of extortionate charges from British banks regarding money transfers, I've asked about the possibility of using paypal. I'll let you all know when I do. Cheers.

Maybe it sounds a bit silly, but as for me i live in the Netherlands, i don't really know how to pay in Pounds really.

Maybe it would be easier if there is also a rate set for Euro's.....like now 20 pounds is about 25,15 EUR (xe.com).

When i make a payment through my bank account i can do it for free if it is in Euro's otherwise i have to go to the bank and tell them i want to pay 20 pounds and they will do the exchange rate plus some extra costs probably.

So the easiest and quickest way would be to have setup a Paypal account as you suggested..

Hi harrytasker, I live in Austria and when I sent the payment to hddvduser I was able to select the currency in which the transfer was to be made. But perhaps we can work something out with respect to this also. We can ask if he is prepared to accept a fixed amount in euros too as you suggest. Cheers.

I have just PM'd the Blackflash and neuty with thanks, and now would also (UK Based) prefer to get the payment sent through a less exhorbitant PayPal, rather than adding £20 bank charges (ouch!) to the EP30 firmware costs. Hope we can work something out - thx in advance!

thnx for the quick answer.

I just tried to use my other bank account and the allow to pick the currency :) so i guess it depends a bit on which bankaccount you have.....

pay for only one now... as im only releasing firmware for one player

eehhh, I´m a little confused ?

Is it the same firmware for both the EP30 and EP35 ?

I have also requested for both players and was told that I should only pay £20,- for both.

Could you please specify the players it will work with and what version it is?

Hopefully we can pay thorugh PayPal :)

I am ready but worried about bank charges. I would be happy with something like paypal. I would even pay extra for their 2% fee or whatever it is.

I'd love to know how to pay through PayPal but i've only used it twice.

We may need extra details for a PayPal payment.

If hddvduser has a paypal account, you would pay him to the email address he is registered to, with that account.

It is very simple, providing you have already got an account set up yourself.

You could also put a meesage with that as to who paid and what it is for.

It's two different firmwares. The EP30 is being released first. I am afraid you will have to pay for both if you want both. Hddvduser will have to answer you regarding the version.

Ok guys, it seems a paypal option is available but they would charge for the currency conversion. As a paypal novice I am not entirely sure how much that would be. They seem to charge a percentage plus a flat fee depending on the currency used. The percentage appears to be 3.4% and the flat fee would be 20 pence for pounds, 35 cents for euros and 30 cents for US dollars. If anyone knows better, please correct me. Cheers.

Like I said, IF (owned by Halifax) is a little bit less than Barclays and Nationwide. ;)

Just a general point, but surely HD would prefer payment in Aussie Dollars? He's not in the UK, so pounds would be pretty much useless to him, surely?

I'd select to pay HD in Aussie Dollars, and allow my credit card to do the converting (Nationwide is great for this, as they don't charge a fee for paying in a different currency when using your credit card, and you get a decent exchange rate - it's better than Paypal's exchange rate, anyway!). So, if HD lets us know how much he wants to be paid in Aussie dollars, we can do that through paypal in that particular currency.

Apparently:

£20.00 / 25.12€

=

41.00 AUD

Crap..............I've tried to PM the first 50 people on the list one by one and too many of them have less than 5 posts! We'll have to hope they notice the thread or are told about it. Cheers.

I have just noticed this thread and i deffo still want the firmware.

Better start posting more, must admit from what i have seen it seems a damn sight more relaxed than certain other forums.

sorry gone off topic

Hi guys.............when amounts and currencies are settled, I'll let everyone know and PM the details to everyone. It shouldn't be too long. I'm at work at the moment and have to curtail my activities somewhat as a consequence. Cheers.
