Hi guys...been looking around on the net and this forum seems to be the place for all the most knowledgable TV gurus in Australia.

We are running a project and we need some TVs tested overseas with Australian HD streams

I was told that we need a *.TS file with an Australian HD stream. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one?

You can copy HD files from any Topfield PVR to a computer then rename them from *.rec to *.TS

HD tuner cards probably also output *.TS files directly onto the computer harddrive.

You will need a HomeTheatrePC or media streamer to play them back on the TV though. ( or High Def PVR ).

(NB * .TS means Transport Stream they are usually MPEG 2 files from Ozzy Digital TV Broadcasts. )

Topfield recordings aren't a full TS, they are a filtered TS for the LCN in particular you recorded. A full TS is about 22megabit/s!

Use a BDA compatible USB tuner card, and a copy of Web Scheduler. Capture a full TS stream.

Things to have a search for.

DigitalNow for USB tuner cards (or many other suppliers)

Web Scheduler

The old Toppy has quite a bit of life left in it. Recording selected programs (or all) from a mux is something that many STBs can't do, yet here is a TAP to do just that.
