Guest Cap'n Jack Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 So you people are saying that a person cannot ask for private offers when selling something, thought we lived in a democracy and also thought according to the forum rules that if people have issues they can go to the mods rather than the pretend mods
Volunteer Kazz Posted May 19, 2008 Volunteer Posted May 19, 2008 So you people are saying that a person cannot ask for private offers when selling something , That's what eBay is there for. Sale threads on this forum are here by the grace of the mods and if they are abused there is nothing to stop the mods from disallowing them altogether and that would be a pity for those who are able to play fair.
Guest Cap'n Jack Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 for sale or trade - need to be region free or local region BThe Big Fish - local release, region free From hell - local region locked region B SOLD pending Revenge - US region free 28 weeks later - local region locked region B only reasonable offers via pm please Yes because some of us are adult enough to make a reasonable offer. That's what eBay is there for.Sale threads on this forum are here by the grace of the mods and if they are abused there is nothing to stop the mods from disallowing them altogether and that would be a pity for those who are able to play fair. ? Guest Cap'n Jack Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 well state your price then and you won't get crap offers So you are saying that a person cannot speak up to others who are attempting to profiteer from this forum when selling something, thought we lived in a democracy and also thought according to the forum rules that if people have issues they can go to the mods rather than the pretend mods I'm just asking what I thought were relevant questions and highlighting some double standards by the looks of it!
Volunteer Kazz Posted May 19, 2008 Volunteer Posted May 19, 2008 ? Confusing rules Disc sale/trade threads being a different kettle of fish and not what I was referring to, but yes you are correct I suppose they should also follow the same rules. The disc trade/sale threads do not seem to have the same eBay mentality as some of these other threads.

Thank you I just thought the OP has a right to see what he might get privately and given the 2nd post being insolent which seems to be a habit for that guy, I'm only knew but seen plenty of threads where people have put up stuff and said that if no interest or price point not reached they were off to e bay and it's not like he's a noob
Meinoz Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I've never heard so much crap in one thread. Firstly, Pistol has an item to sell and asked for PM's re offers. How is asking for Private messages, starting a bidding war? Where did this turn into profiteering (I bought this machine for $650, so if I tried to sell mine for $300 and got a buyer, am I profiteering?) Surely, whether the seller puts down a price or the buyer nominated a price, that's between them (esp if both are happy) I'm pretty sure whatever I buy today, if I look hard enough or travel far enough someone will have it cheaper, but is it a better deal for me? This thread should have had no more than 10 responses, with either a sale or no sale at the end. Cowabunga, we all know you like a great deal, but if you were genuine with your price you should have PM'd as requested. Andrew, no-one is starting a bidding war through PM's. (PM's are nothing like Ebay) Kazz, you can't single someone out, when others have been doing the same thing for ages. If no-one wants to make an offer or accept an offered price, the thread would have disappeared from the first 2 pages in no time.

2ZZ-GE Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Guys, I have been doing to right thing pm pistol for a reasonable price. $200+ as on other thread i posted. After all these arguements you are having, you have upset him and now he wont sell it to me. I was the first person pm him and after all these arguements, he wont even bother to do anything. you guys should not comment on things that does not concern you, and should give serious buyers/seller a fair chance on this thread.
gstok Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) *sigh* As I said at the start, go here for the stupid offers ($150 / $200 - take your pick) or eBay for market prices. "There's no friends in business" as the saying goes. Welcome to the 21st century! And Pistol, there's no reason to be upset - none of these arguments are at you personally. They're at each other really! A good healthy debate never hurt anyone. Edited May 19, 2008 by gstok
Guest teflon Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Not that it matters now since Pistol has withdrawn this from sale from this forum at least, but I bought my Hd-XA1 from Pistol and he was fantastic to deal with. He did not want an ebay type price (in fact sold it to me for a bargain) and packaged it for delivery so that it would have survived WWIII! And when the forum was losing his pms into cyberspace he went to several efforts to track me down to ensure that I had received the player. So I'm sure that he would have let this player go for a good price (not looking to profiteer) and would have looked after the purchaser very well. I don't know him personally but thought I should put a good word in for him. And I agree with gstok - I hope Pistol hasn't taken any of this debate personally.
