Does anyone know whether there is a budget "box" which convert MP3 to analogue signal. I do not want to play it via my PC... Cheers

Just about anything pre-P4 these days can be picked up for pretty much nothing, and will happily play MP3s. They are also capable of connecting to your LAN (if you have one), to make it easier for you to transfer files across to it. Not to mention that surplus parallel ATA HDDs are cheap as chips. If I were you I'd just ask around...lots of people have old computers that are too old to use as a main PC, but will do just fine for something like this that they'll either just give away or sell cheap as chips just to get rid of it.
