jaenschw Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Tonight I gave in to the dark side and joined Club Elektra. I placed my order for the Theatron and it should arrive in 2 -3 weeks time. I was kicking myself that I didn't join the last group buy but in the end I got a rippa price (Thanks to mr campbell!) so I'm a happy chappy. Can't wait for it to arrive, it should make a fantastic addition to my room and hopefully bring the best out of my speakers!

The Elektra Theatron is making my old Acoustic Research M4's sing like they haven't ever before ! Not bad for speakers that are more than 14 years old ! I am now so convinced that I can improve my system even more by looking into the Paradigm Signature speakers ... I have got a serious dose of upgraditis ! Edited May 17, 2008 by mr campbell
Guest EZYHD Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I have got a serious dose of upgraditis ! and it never seems to go away!.
Volunteer Kazz Posted May 17, 2008 Volunteer Posted May 17, 2008 and it never seems to go away!. You're not wrong there it's a chronic condition.......................

The D-Train Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 You're not wrong there it's a chronic condition....................... and dont forget highly contagious.
Volunteer Kazz Posted May 17, 2008 Volunteer Posted May 17, 2008 and dont forget highly contagious. Yep that too.
The D-Train Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Yep that too. Whist this thread is hot and the other elektra one is dead, I couldnt get a mono cable longer than 1.5m for the trigger. Jaycar sold me a 3m and said stereo would work fine. I did a search on other forums (as ours was dead at the time) and seems others had no problems. I went ahead and hooked it all up and all was good. Unless anyone knows of any major problems that this may cause I will leave it as is.

Yeah I couldn't get longer than 1.5 either but I haven't hooked mine up yet the Elektra's been on since I got it. Not sure if you'd have any probs with a stereo one I was just told to get a mono one. Let me know how yours goes because I'm not 100% sure the 1.5m will reach.

Also I wouldnt be able to pull out any components without it going ping. I did a fair amount of testing on it the other day and worked without a hitch. Ive now gone back to leaving it on again so have disabled the trigger.

50mxe20 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 If in doubt you could get two and a joiner.. Remembering its only for switching,it has noooo effect on SQ... Just about any reputable hi fi shop would make you up one to your required length.
Aspect Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Just about any reputable hi fi shop would make you up one to your required length. Arthur will make them up for you as well if needed. Cheers, Chris
Aspect Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I spoke to Arthur today, and he is going to test a stereo connection. If he give it the thumbs up, that should satisfy a few people out there who'd rather follow the spec's. Cheers, Chris
