silverex Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I didn't get to see 'I Am Legend' at the movies so have the HD DVD version in my basket at Amazon. If any of you have seen this I'd appreciate some reviews please. Thanks. Barry
Submariner1503559614 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I have not seen it, but check out this review of the HD DVD version: http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/1337/iamlegend.html
SDL Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Have seen it both at the movies and on HD DVD. Watched both theatrical and alternate ending. It's okay, just that it seems to be a really good version of the book but then ends rather quickly. Both endings are not brilliant. I prefer the theatrical with the alternate being a bit Hollywood for me.

piccard21 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 The movie was a joke and the ending was one of the worst "hollywood pleaser's" I've seen in a long time. It had potential but ultimately went off the rails when the director started to think he knew better than the author. Remove the intro/outro credits and your looking at a run time of 75 mins, even a plot less comedy would struggle to satisfy with that run time. Read the book, but if you have to watch a movie watch 'the last man on earth' or 'omega man' instead.
Guest csw05 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I wont comment on the film as i liked both endings but do agree it was too short. The actual graphics for the film are a let down when you compare it to King Kong but the overall presentation of PQ was very good on my 50 inch Sharp via xbox. I cannot comment on sound quality as i dont really have a proper surround sound yet. One thing i will tell you is this disc takes a long time to boot up as it loads alot of content into your players RAM.

pajames Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I agree the movie was too short, i thought the first 2/3rds was excellent but yes the ending was a disappointment. I loved the opening scene where he is racing around the streets in the Ford Mustang, how cool is that car.
Tweet Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I watched this movie on a DVD rental last night and I must say it had nothing to recommend it but its short running time. C.M
