Hi, First post for me,......Was watching 10HD AFL......VIC. V DREAM thru my yammie and noticed the sound would drop out now and again also when it did the "display" on the front of the yammie would flick as well . Never had this prob. b4 i.e watching dvd`s , so am wondering if it was 10`s transmission ??.....anyone have the same sound problem ??

If the display was flickering, it sounds more like a power issue with the amp.

Well at the time my wife was on the puter, which is in the same room , maybe her clicking on diff. sites have caused interference with the electricals ??

could be. I find that if lights in the rooms near our rumpus room are turned on/off, I can get a loud chirp from my surround sound system, even if it's in standby

ive experienced this problem as well.. ive put my TV volume up as well as my receiver.. my receiver... yammy1800 starts to flicker and sound gets dropped out..

but the volume from the TV still continues to be normal..

so now i think that it seems to be a receiver problem..

BUT.... today my mate who has a onkyo 605 tells me that he suffers from the same exact problem... any particular idea anyeone?

Three people with the same problem....

Is your configuration Display>optical out>receiver...?

and are these devices connected to a wall outlet or a power board(surge protector or something)

Sometimes DTV loses audio,Ive noticed this with the HD channels, prime HD used to run programs with no audio(last year)they acknowledged this.

WINHD still have audio dropouts, dont know about 10HD

Possibilities

If the display on the receiver does flicker, it could be due to the audio dropout and re-sync.

Also lighting, refridgerators, washing machines can sometimes have an affect on electronics

Guys, can you list your setups?

Had it happen on WIN too. What viewing area are you in?

Don't bet on it. I've been having these problems in the two years I've had HDTV, and when I brought up these issues with someone from WIN, he laughed it off (literally) and said that it was probably my equipment which was at fault.

Here's a few other threads regarding WINHD audio:
