Sidor Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I have that setup, but what do i do when i upgrade to iq2?............it has no rf out just get modulator if you want to use your existing setup. I'd wait and see how IQ2 will work first
Guest Enz Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Hey Peoples, I had just purchased the "Cres AV Wireless AV System" which works on the 2.4ghz frequency, bt couldnt get it to work very well between my IQ in my living room and my bedroom (which is about 8mtres away through 1 wall). I do have a Belkin router that works on the same frequency and possibly my house cordless phone Is there anything I can do (besides change the channels on the bottom of the cress wireless system) or should I just return the CRES back to Harvey Norman and get something on another frequency? The picture keeps jumping and occassionally cutting out in my bedroom, which makes it unwatchable. I like to be able to change the channels from my bedroom hence the reason I went with the wireless receiver?

These will set you back about $100 a pair (1 for each end) and then you just plug into the video out on the back of the box or VCR scart to this and your set

If IQ2 is going to work like the very forst IQ boxes then I am staying with IQ and forget about IQ2 .. Edited May 13, 2008 by Sidor

If IQ2 is going to work like the very forst IQ boxes then I am staying with IQ and forget anout IQ2 .. But on one of the IQ2 Blogs (Looking to find it now) it says that the multi room and RF out have been takern out of the IQ2 as it is not a good way to transpotrt the signal as it is not HD etc etc etc I know no one has seen it or has final information but even looking at it it seems a little off it is missing the RF out. You could also run a standard pair cable and a IR repeater with the cat 5 and use a simple IR repeater from Jaycar or dick smith and then you could quite easily change channels etc from 300m away. I am just trying to let this guy/gal know that they might run the RF now and in 3 months they decide to upgrade to HD and the cable run was a waste of time and money if it is unuseable. Might be worth the caution now and seeking other alternatives just in case to weigh up all the options
