hatch1959 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Hey All...Got a prob which I am not sure about. Hopefully someone should be able to give me some info on it. I installed a Healing STB model HSDT821 to a Magnavox Widescreen TV and it doesnt matter what I do with the aspect, the TV is cutting off the picture on both sides, so I can't see titles. a. Should I ditch the TV and buy a new one b. Has anyone else had the same prob with this TV ? c. OR..have I done something wrong? Thanks in advance
mtv Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 It's possibly the TV (if it's a CRT) which Magnavox are known for. To check this, when you look at the TV on-screen-display in the menu, are any of the words still cut off on the sides?

On all 4 aspects I have pushed the "menu" button on the Healing and yes....although I can read the menu, it has cut off the LHS boxes next to: Installation, Edit Programs, Parental Settings, System Setup and Games. Thought Magnavox was supposed to be *Smart.....Very Smart*. Obviously NOT as *Smart* as I thought it would be
mtv Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I was referring to check the TV menu not the STB... what does your screen show then?

mtv Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Definitely the TV then. Is it the 66cm CRT model by any chance?
hatch1959 Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Definitely the TV then.Is it the 66cm CRT model by any chance? Yep sure is...it's a 66cm Flat Screen. Thought I was getting a bargain at Kmart up in Newie as it was on special at the time. Works for me...except for the *lil* bits missing.. Have been looking at an upgrade on a Sony Bravia ...but will have to wait for now. Depends on what the Taxation Dept thinks I am worth, as in a refund...
hatch1959 Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 If I recall, they had a 2-year warranty. Yep..it has, 2 year replacement warranty, wife found the receipt AND the box in which it came in..10 points. Only thing is, the household will be TV-less..Hmmm.what to do? Will be like the *blackout* in London during the war..lmao..hope she doesnt want me to go to bed EARLY each night..
