JMatthews Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I am looking at upgrading my Samsung 32inch LA32R71BDX LCD TV to a larger tv. The three models I am currently looking at are: Samsung LA46M81BDX 116cm LCD TV Sony KDL46W3100 46" W Series Bravia LCD TV and the Panasonic VIERA TH-42PZ700A 42" (106cm) FULL-HD Plasma I had a quick look in JB this morning and they had the sony had a blu ray movie playing on it which looked great and the panasonic had something different playing which didnt look that great but my parents have the 50inch panasonic plasma and i have seen blu ray on it and it looks great. Unfortunately the samsung was not on display. I have been looking online at prices and places like Digital Centre and Game On seem to have very competitive pricing. I will be connecting everything that is in my sig to this new tv. What are everyones opinions on these tvs?
kulfi Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 All 3 TVs are quite good. In this kind of a situation, size matters. The 46" is bigger than the 42" so buy the bigger one. The Samsung is pretty good value of money at the moment. It's in runout mode and you can negotiate a good price.
JMatthews Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Unfortunately the 50inch panasonic wont fit.
Topdog Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I've a 46X Bravia +Sony Bluray +Beyonwiz(P1) and can't fault them..If you decide on a Sony, get the X or XBR...
JMatthews Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Due to a size limitation of 1150mm the sony x or xbr wont fit.
kulfi Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Due to a size limitation of 1150mm the sony x or xbr wont fit. Maybe you need to get the tape measure out and see if the 46" Samsung M81 or Sony W3100 will fit. Both have bottom-mounted speakers.
JMatthews Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 According to the specs on samsung and sonys websites the m81 and the sony w3100 will fit.
