floppinab Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Hi, I sent this to the digitalnow support email address a week ago for thus far no response, so I thought I'd try here. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts/help. I recently purchased a HTPC that was setup relatively recently by someone who no longer needed the machine. It is a AMD Athom 64 x2 Dual Core machine on a Gigabyte MoBo running Vista Ultimate. The card has been working OK with Media Centre but I've had some trouble getting MC to display TV properly at the resolution my screen can handle so I've given up on that and I wanted something that worked with the remote that came with the card anyway. The guy who sold me the HTPC had DNTV Live CD so after reading a bit about DNTV live I thought I'd try that. However strangely DNTV Live doesn't seem to recognise either of the tuners that should be available on that card. Under the "Configuration" option, "Hardware Information" it shows all tuners as "Not Detected" and as such no scanning or any other TV functions are available. I can't get the remote working either. I try reinstalling the latest drivers to no effect, in any case MC can see the tuner I don't understand why DNTV Live can't. I'm using the latest DNTV Live 1.3.2. One thing that is a little strange. Looking the System Device Manager the only driver listed under Sound, video, etc. is shown as "NXP SAA7162, Hybrid Capture Device". I assume that's the tuner card but looking at your website it doesn't correspond to anything that is listed. There is another "Unknown Device" showing up under "Other devices" which I haven't put my finger on yet. It could be something to do with this but I'm not sure.

If you emailed us we would have responded, so either we did not get your email or you did not get our response - In any case, you can not use DNTV Live with the Dual Hybrid cards unless you have a license to use it, which you obviously don't. I doubt your friend had a DNTV Live! CD, as we do not supply DNTV Live! CDs with this card. I suggest you talk to him about it.
