djmm Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I just got my Pioneer 508Xd, connected via HDMI to Pioneer DVD Player DV400, and I just realised that the sound is out of sync. So basically the sound will come first, and followed late by the image by maybe 0.2 second or so. Anyone familiar with this problem? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sabbath Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Hi,Got the same set up but dont have that issue sorry mate. Have you tried it via component to see if its the HDMI cable? Too funny! And not very smooth either.
spalmills Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) Too funny! And not very smooth either. whats that supposed to mean blacky ?? Dont you think it was a valid comment? Whats yours?? Edited May 10, 2008 by spalmills
djmm Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 Actually I just finished the whole movie (different one) and it was fine. Do you think it might be the DVD? Because I would assume if the problem is somewhere in setup/connection, it would consistently show sync problem right?

Very doubtful but I guess there can always be a dud, try a few more see what they do.

I'm not here to say who can sell cables and who can't. I wasn't really knocking you either. I own the same dvd player and haven't had this problem, HDMI or RCA.

Sabbath Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 what was "too funny" and "not very smooth " referring to ? Oh man, this is stupid. It was a joke. You made me laugh with your post. I'd have to be an idiot not to think you were angling for a sale. If not, it's awfully convenient that your suggestion might involve the purchase of a new HDMI cable. Please, i was just mucking around with you. Take a joke.

I was actually trying to help him so i guess you must be. As i said , same TV and same DVD player so maybe more relevance here than your immature little snipes. I have messaged the OP prior to him getting the TV. OK Dude? Bye Bye

geoff888 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) Some DivX movies aren't ripped properly and the sound can be out of sync. My DVD player has a audio delay function to re-sync the audio. Uncommon to have audio sync issues with normal DVD movies. Edited May 10, 2008 by EndoGuy
djmm Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 Hey, no sweat please don't make this into argument, I think Spallmils was honestly trying to help not selling. But by the way, I am using the same HDMI as the one he is selling, so it's a good one. No, the DVD was original, not copy one. But I will see if this problem appears again in the future, but so far it's okay. Picture quality from certain DVD is excellent by the way, it really make me think whether I should just postpone Bluray or not because it does really look good on good quality DVDs. I watched The Incredibles (animation) and The 13th Warrior (Antonio Banderas), picture was great, I couldn't see any artefacts or mosquito effect at all.
diesel Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Spalmills...as i have said in another thread which you started, you really know how to dig yourself a hole. Sabbath was only joking which I suppose in hindsight a winky or LOL smiley may have inferred if he added it to the end of his post, but your response is very defensive and very aggressive. IMO you look like an inexperienced sales person with your tone in your posts. Like I said previously, we are all here to help each other and gain some knowledge...not be aggressive and rude.
