ebenv Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I'm experiencing some problems with Channel 9's HD recordings on my HTPC (AMD 3200+, 1GB Ram). When I use VLC - it crashes within the first couple of seconds. DivX player plays appx halfway through the file and then crashes the playback. PC recovers normally, but the CPU is running at 100% and then the playback just halts. It seems to attempt a recovery, but fails to do so and closes the app. These files normally runs fine on my laptop. SD recordings are fine. Channel 10 and Channel 7 plays ok, but through VLC occationally stutters. Any advise on which direction to go - new graphics card, more memory, ???? the file signitures: File Name: D:\ToRip\9 (2008-05-05 22-50) E-Ring Nine HD.ts File Size: 11209071528 ( 10.44 GB ) Program Duration: 01:34:40.05 File Type: TS Stream Encoding: MPEG 2 Video stream Id: 522 (x20A) Encoding Dimensions: 1920 x 1088 Display Size: 1920 x 1088 Aspect Ratio: 16/9 Frame Rate: 25.00 FPS Bit Rate: 15.000 Mbps VBV_Buffer: 914 KB Profile: Main/High Progressive: Prog or Int Chroma: 4:2:0 Audio Format: 5.1 Audio Stream Id: AC3: 750 (x2ee) Audio Bit Rate: 448 Kbps Audio Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz File Name: D:\Recordings\9 (2008-04-03 21-20) Invasion.mpg File Size: 4534716416 ( 4.22 GB ) Program Duration: 00:38:38.22 File Type: PS - MPEG2 Encoding: MPEG 2 Video stream Id: xE0 Encoding Dimensions: 1920 x 1088 Display Size: 1920 x 1088 Aspect Ratio: 16/9 Frame Rate: 25.00 FPS Bit Rate: 15.000 Mbps VBV_Buffer: 914 KB Profile: Main/High Progressive: Prog or Int Chroma: 4:2:0 Audio Format: 5.1 Audio Stream Id: AC3: 0 (x80) Audio Bit Rate: 448 Kbps Audio Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz
mwd Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 probably need to clean up the errors in the files. Run through Project X or Video ReDo Quick Stream Fix. Use Media Player Classic with ffdshow for best PQ.
