I'm experiencing some problems with Channel 9's HD recordings on my HTPC (AMD 3200+, 1GB Ram).

When I use VLC - it crashes within the first couple of seconds. DivX player plays appx halfway through the file and then crashes the playback. PC recovers normally, but the CPU is running at 100% and then the playback just halts. It seems to attempt a recovery, but fails to do so and closes the app.

These files normally runs fine on my laptop.

SD recordings are fine. Channel 10 and Channel 7 plays ok, but through VLC occationally stutters.

Any advise on which direction to go - new graphics card, more memory, ????

probably need to clean up the errors in the files.

Run through Project X or Video ReDo Quick Stream Fix.

Use Media Player Classic with ffdshow for best PQ.
