Also you might notice that as of today SBS has new idents, promos and a new tagline "6 billion stores and counting" check it out

"6 billion stores"? Is that supposed to be "stories"?

I wonder if the same scam artists who "designed" the "new" ABC crapmarks, designed the new meaningless blob for SBS?

If they removed it completely you'd have a much information. Which is what I'd prefer.

Funny though. The ABC crapmarks are overkill, the SBS crapmark is underkill.

Basically, the new SBS watermark proves conclusively that the networks' mantra of "they're for station identification in the multi-channel digital age blah blah etc etc" is total and utter bollocks.

I just watched a recording of Top Gear from last night and saw that in addition to the show's tag line along the bottom after the add break there was a rating logo (PG) in the top left 4:3 safe zone. It was a solid colour too......

Mecifully it disappeared quickly!

Screwed By Shaun (and, to be fair, the ABC as well - don't know or care about the others) have been doing that for a while now - maybe 12 months?

There doesn't seem to be a requirement for this in the relevant broadcasting Acts, or even in the industry codes of practice, so I just assumed it was a not-so-subtle bit of "look, we're thinking of the kiddies, and helping you to make a responsible choice" propaganda.

But, like watermarks, it doesn't seem to pop up on the majority of programming I get from elsewhere...
