Lg 52lb9df 52" 1080p Lcd 3 Yr Warranty $2995

Anyone have an opinion on this specific model?

I know first hand the perils of LG - see this : http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=66122

But 3 yr warranty and probably another 2 extended.. looks like an ok deal - in the latest WOW catalogue.

For me, having my LG plasma go after 4+yrs was a blessing because I get to upgrade, which I was looking to do anyway. So if I put the same thinking into a new LCD and hope to get the same time out of it then it will cost me about 50 per month which is reasonable for a good TV.

That's an amazing price (isn't it?) I haven't been completely following the industry but I thought Plasma was cheaper than LCD once you hit 50" - a 52" LCD for only 3k - not bad at all - that being said black levels :/

LG is definately getting a bad name at the moment though, I keep seeing it all over Aussie forums, a 5 year warranty would definately be advised.
