--ThisIsAllToMuchFun-- Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) ...I'm thinking about buying a DP-H1 & connecting it to a Dpp-1 ....I have a pp-1 with an external hd full of dvd movies in signal 4 to 5gig vobs & I was wondering if I connected the Dpp-1 to DP-H1 via a ethernet cable could I watch these movies & have the same limited control when using them with the DP-H1 & it's remote..... ................I don't have a network @ the moment & the thought using of the Dp-h1 to view & control my movies on the DPP-1 with the Dp-h1 in another location is very appealing.... ................I checked the Bwiz forum but there are no answers to this specific Q there....... it mainly discusses playing back bwiz recorded files this way ... ................ I've tried to sign up on 2 ocassions but as yet have been unable to post .....Any answers or posts would be appreciated............ ................. --ThisIsAllToMuchFun-- ................. diesel Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Seems there is a bug with recordings longer than 1.5 hours streamed to the H1 from an external HDD attached to a P1 or S1. Check Bug (f) DP-H1 1.05.192 Bug List and Wish List (f) Replay from external HDD sometimes terminates early early on long (>1.5 hours) recordings. Report. This hasn't been confirmed for recent beta firmware and may be fixed.

Check Bug (f)DP-H1 1.05.192 Bug List and Wish List .....Thanx for the quick answer diesel ........does this mean that you can stream these files (vobs) between the dpp1 & dp-h1.... as it wasn't clear wether they were talking about bwiz files or Vobs.... ......the 1.5hr crash is also disapointing & I'd read that before also........ ........... diesel Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Simple answer would be to unplug the external HDD from the P1 and plug it into the H1 - no streaming required.
swordfish805 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Simple answer would be to unplug the external HDD from the P1 and plug it into the H1 - no streaming required. ...and I think the alternative (streaming over ethernet) requires at least a router to handle the ethernet traffic. Sounds like the OP wants to simply plug a cable between the P1 and H1, which I don't think will work. Someone pls correct this if I'm wrong.
