Ps3 - Usb Cooling Fan's

Seen these on ebay for $10. Are they needed to help cooling? or

just a waste of money.

Well I hear that what the PS3 lacks in obvious noise, it makes up for it in heat, so perhaps time will tell if they are required. The outbound crap is emitted from the right side of the console, so if that was blocked in any way it could be a problem.
