franin Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Does anyone know the retail on the Anthem Avm 50 and it power amp and the company that distrubutes them? Thankyou
dyates69 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Think these are pretty much just US based. I looked at the D2 at one point and found nothing over here. All the voltages are fixed to 120V and things like PAL may not work too well. Pity. They look to be a nice unit. Does this mean you're selling your A1XVA?
betty boop Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 hi franin, duratone is importer of anthem. as per this thread on htc $10-$12 for the p2-D2 models

cwt Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Nice choice FRANIN ; The avm 50 has the same gennum upscaling as the d2 and the us msrp is $4699 versus $6699 for the d2.Being a gennum the deinterlacing/scaling has no problems with 576i ;unlike other amps which are designed for 480i as dyates69 says.Sound and Vision were impressed with its de interlacing of 1080i hd dvd for sure

I wondered what the dif was FRANIN; Ive never seen a 24/96 disc [very rare apparently].I understand that a video processor can throw lip sync out ;but I wouldnt have a clue how much is needed [my Integra has 300 ms -typical overkill probably]
franin Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 Hey Cwt I've talked to the guys at duratone and they have said to me it will be awhile before the avm 50 will arrive. You have to order it and they have to add a 240 power on the the anthem overseas.I was also looking at getting the Nad M25 power amp connected to my denon.I was told by many that a seperate power amp is much cleaner and detailed than avr.
