Hello all,

Just arrived back from Hong Kong, what a blast, "still the only place in the world where you go broke trying to save money!". We and our friends had a ball, lots of buying and boozing.

A few prices without haggling:

Epson TW1000 PJ $3590

Panasonic PJ AX1000 $1550

Yamaha Receiver RX-V2700 $1480

Denon Receiver 4306 $1950

We spent little time in that specialist Hi Fi building in Mongkok, however we went on a spending spree buying cameras (in all we bought 4 video cameras in one shop!!) and lots of other gear (cosmetics, clothes and watches the ladies did) in the various Kowllon market places. We found some great new restaurants and bars on the waterfront, went up to the Peak again and did a harbour tour on a chinese junk.

My wife and I had upgrade to Biz class, pitty that as our friends were in cattle class, but I was able to get us all in to the airline lounges.

Good info thanks.

Don't suppose you saw a price on the A1XV at all?

I assume your AX1000 is a misprint in either the price or the model no?

Cheers

Wow Foxy, it does sound like you had a great time.

Makes for something to talk and reminisce about for a long time.

Thanks for posting.

Funny isn't it, I posted a comment yesterday wondering where you were and the next day you turn up.

Sounds like you had a great time.

Why the need for the upgrade? Airline stuff up or ?? Did you have to pay for it?

It's fantastic when the airline does it.

I once got upgraded from Biz class to First on a flight from London to Perth.

The was special.

Good to see you back safe and sound.

We had a ball, one night none of us remember leaving the bar!.

My wife and I had an upgrade voucher from previous trip due to being bumped to another flight but same night, thru SYD/CNS rather than direct, it made longer trip at the time.

We bought a Fuji movie camera plus it has 8mp still, zoom, spare battery, was told it will last 4 hours in movie mode, its an all in one its an oblong thing, weighs nothing pictures are stunning. Model is Fujitac VMX-1 price was $500AUD.
