natrat Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 hi guys, I have a friend who has a yamaha stereo receiver (RX-450) and a HK AV receiver which are both faulty. It's the same apparent problem with both. They both power on, all lights and functions appear to work, but no sound is delivered to the speakers at all. He has of course tested with a number of speakers he knows work - the problem is definately with the receivers. Long shot, but does anyone know anyone on the Sunshine Coast or even Brisbane who may be able to repair these relatively cheaply, or does anyone have any ideas where the problem may reside in the units? cheers nathan edit: hmm thinking about it I suppose the problem with both could equally be the source input(s) or the speaker driver parts...
Guest brendo_74 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Hi Nathan, No idea on the problem, but previously, I have taken a couple of items to Comscan Electronics for repair. They are located in Kelly Court, Maroochydore (at the end of the same street the Transport Department is located in). I believe they are approved repairers for Yamaha and Denon gear. Have nothing bad to say about their service and would suggest you pay them a visit. Brendan
wheelz Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 this is the same reply i gave to another poster Just a guess but I know with my old yammaha the speakers A/B were both turned off straight out of the box and i was stumped for a few seconds as to why i had no sound but pushing the speaker buttons on fixed everything.
