HI,

First off, I'm only new to this forum, but after an hours reading posts, I feel like a total idiot, and must be doing something wrong.

I live in the Ingham area, and receive digital transmissions from Townsville.

I have just purchased a NEC 42" HD plasma with built in HD tuner. I used the auto tuning function to pick up all the stations, and hid the ones I didn't want to watch. (What's this, they're all saying . He bought a plasma!! - yep, on price alone, ($2045.00) at least a grand cheaper than the equivalent LCD)>.

The problem I have is that on channel 8, which is the Win 9 SD channel, the picture is distorted, ie, the people are squatter and shorter than they used to be on my old tv. On channel 80 (Win's HD channel, picture is perfect.

On all the other channels, the picture is perfect.

I can't find anyway of getting the picture back to normal 4:3 sized, as the wide screen/normal screen mode only works on analogue inputs.

If I run the picture thru my DVB pvr, the picture is not distorted.

Is there any way to get a proper picture on my set for Win 9, or do I need to keep viewing this channel thru my stb?

As I said, it's not a problem on their HD channel (when they are broadcasting in HD - great if you like Kerry-anne.)

It's a pain in the but to keep switching inputs when I want to watch channel nine (WIN).

Please help.

Dave Morgan. :blink::D:P
