well trekkoe, let me tell you

i had the 1075 and upgraded to the elektra theatre

worst descision i ever made

should have bought the elektra from the start

The 1075 is a good amp and at a great price point, the elektra is just in a different league

you will love it mate and congrats

John,

well I must admit if you were fishing for "shocked responses" to your post, you got me . Thank God I scrolled down!

Well done.

How's that preamp search going??

Cheers

Danton

hehe , love your work John!

Interestingly, I was considering going down same Rotel path a couple of years ago when suddenly Al and Spearmint found the joys of Elektra. I took a punt and joined them instead of going the Rotel route, and have never regretted it. The Theatre 7 is so versatile, quiet, clean, and well made that it will stay with my HT for a very long time. It is even fine enough to run my 20K 2ch speakers, even though it is a 'mere' HT amp. Well done trekkoe

Congrats on the purchase Trekkie, just out of interest what gear is the Elektra going to be keeping company with? Oh and let us know what you think of it when you get it it all up & running.

lol, knew my reply would get some reaction

but lets not tak anything away from the Rotel 1075 guys

for $1500 if you were to use it for surround and centre it would do a wonderful job.

Its just not as clean and clinical as the elektra and only offers 5 channels compared to 7

still you could get 2 of them for the same price as the elektra and end up with 10 channels and bi-amp everything :D

Is this amp still for sale. I am ready to go on one of these? I am also moving on from a Rotel 1075

Cheers

Corey

It was actually changed a little while back (I missed it too... ) - only 5 posts needed now for thread creation and PM privileges.

Oh, and this Elektra was purchased by trekkie... :D

The 1075 is a fantastic amp for its price - IMO it's just that the Elektra is even better at its higher price.

having owned both i tend to agree.

The rotel did do a good job on my setup but found the elektra so much nicer and with the extra 2 channels then you aren't too far of the price of say a 1075 and a 1080 if running 7.1 like i did

guys, I ended up purchasing a Rotel 1077 today. It is awesome, so clean and powerful. Not too much of a step up from the 1075 I have. I am really happy. I ended up needing the room and the 1077 is amazing for it's size.

congrats corza, from all reports its a fine amp indeed and its small footprint makes it easier to install in some racks

hope it gives you many years of listening pleasure
